Yominao Jnr

Joseph has been winning at Port Moresby Racquets Club since he was ten. He took the Mixed U11 title at the 2022 POMRC Open, in a field that ran from eight-year-olds to players in their sixties.

Four years on, he is coached by his father, Joe Yominao Snr, and trains out of the same club. In 2026 he won two POMRC championship titles in a single season — the Boys U18, four years under the age limit, and then the Men's B Grade, against adults.

2025 was the year he first competed outside Papua New Guinea. In February he was one of five POMRC juniors put forward for selection to the Queensland Junior Championships, and in October he made his overseas debut at the Cairns Juniors in far north Queensland.
